Water & Well Inspections FAQs

1. What does a water & well inspection include?

A ClearVUE water and well inspection evaluates the visible well system, including the pump, pressure tank, flow rate, water pressure and accessible components. We also collect water samples for certified lab testing to check for harmful contaminants.

2. What contaminants do you test for in the water?

We commonly test for coliform bacteria, E. coli, nitrates and nitrites. Lead testing is also available upon request to help confirm whether the water is safe for drinking, cooking and everyday use.

3. How long does it take to get water test results?

Water samples are sent to a certified lab, and results are typically available within 7 business days. Once results are received, ClearVUE provides a report and guidance if any concerns are found.

4. Is a water inspection required for rural properties?

It may not always be required, but it is strongly recommended for rural properties or homes using private wells. A water and well inspection helps confirm system performance and gives you important information about drinking water safety.

5. Can ClearVUE inspect properties in Columbia?

Columbia is currently outside the main ClearVUE service area. However, ClearVUE serves many surrounding communities across Charlotte & the Carolinas, so it is best to contact us directly to confirm availability for your location.

6. What is flow rate testing and why is it important?

Flow rate testing measures how much water your system delivers over time. It can help identify pump performance concerns, system efficiency issues or pressure inconsistencies.

7. Do you inspect the condition of the pressure tank and pump?

Yes. ClearVUE reviews pump function, pressure tank performance and visible system components to help determine whether the well system appears to be working properly.

8. Can I request a water inspection before buying a home?

Yes. A pre-purchase water and well inspection is a smart step, especially for homes with private wells. It can help you avoid surprises after closing and better understand the property before making a final decision.

9. What happens if the water test fails?

If contaminants are found, ClearVUE provides a clear explanation of the results and recommended next steps. This may include system repairs, water treatment options or retesting after remediation.

10. How often should I have my well water tested?

Well water should generally be tested at least once a year. Testing is also recommended if you notice changes in water taste, colour, odour, pressure or overall water quality.
