Home Buyers FAQs

1. Why do I need a home inspection before buying a house?

A home inspection gives you a clearer picture of the property’s condition before you commit to buying. It can identify visible safety concerns, hidden issues and needed repairs so you can make a more informed decision.

2. What areas of the home are inspected?

ClearVUE inspectors evaluate major visible systems and components, including roofing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, insulation, structural areas, windows, doors and accessible areas for signs of water intrusion or damage. Add-on services may include radon, termite and pest, water and well, pre-drywall and new construction inspections.

3. How long does a typical home inspection take?

Most home inspections take between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the size, age and condition of the property. Larger or older homes may take more time for a thorough evaluation.

4. Do I need to be present during the inspection?

You are not required to attend, but we highly recommend it. Attending gives you the chance to ask questions, see concerns firsthand and better understand the inspection findings.

5. What will I receive after the inspection?

You will receive a detailed, easy-to-read digital report with high-resolution photos, summaries and recommendations. This helps you review the findings and share them with your real estate agent if needed.

6. Can a home fail an inspection?

No. A home inspection is not a pass-or-fail test. It provides unbiased information about the property’s visible condition so you can decide whether to move forward, renegotiate or request repairs.

7. How soon can I get my inspection report?

ClearVUE delivers most inspection reports within 24 hours of completing the inspection. This helps you get the information you need quickly during the home-buying process.

8. Do you check for radon, or pests?

Yes. ClearVUE offers add-on services such as radon inspections and termite or pest inspections. These specialised evaluations can be bundled with your home inspection for added peace of mind.

9. What if issues are found during the inspection?

Our inspectors clearly document any visible issues found during the inspection. Some may be minor maintenance items, while others may involve safety, structural or system concerns. We provide recommendations so you can decide your next steps with confidence.

10. What areas do you serve?

ClearVUE Home Inspection proudly serves Charlotte & the Carolinas, including Charlotte, Fort Mill, Midland, Lake Norman and surrounding areas of North and South Carolina.
